Una brass band (che esiste da 17 anni) che ha coltivato l'idea di conquistare il mondo. Questi undici musicisti vivono a Vladicin Han nel sud della Serbia.

Fin da ragazzo Boban Markovic sognava di diventare un trombettista famoso e di viaggiare in tutto il mondo. I suoi avi lo avevano sicuramente già preceduto perché suo nonno, il leggendario Pavle in passato aveva suonato per i re di Serbia. Anche suo padre era un musicista e fu lui ad insegnare e a far amare al figlio la

tromba che divenne per Boban un accessorio inseparabile nella sua vita quotidiana. La tradizione inoltre è anche rafforzata dalla sua data di nascita: il 6 di maggio è il Djurdjevdan, la leggendaria festa degli zingari!
Da più di dieci anni l'Orchestra è il gruppo più popolare della Serbia. Questa popolarità è in primo luogo dovuta ai premi vinti a Guca, ("Golden Trumpet", "First Trumpet" e "The Best Orchestra") e che il più importante festival della Serbia.
Questi successi hanno portato la band a prendere parte come compositori ai film di Kusturica ("Underground", "Arizona Dream") assieme a Goran Bregovic. Boban ha prodotto altre colonne sonore di film con Ljubisa Samardzical, ed ha lavorato con altri famosi musicisti quali il violinista Felix Laiko. Su Boban Markovic sono stati prodotti due film biografici per la televisione ungherese: "Boban Markovic all'Accademia della musica" e "Un ritratto di Boban Markovic".

La Boban Markovic Orkestar ha suonato in festival e concerti in: Grecia, Belgio, Romania, Ungheria, Italia, Austria, Principato di Monaco, Germania, Spagna, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croazia, Republic Cecha e molti altri posti ancora.
Hanno partecipato nei seguenti festival: Interbalcanic Music Festival 95., Balkan Brass Band Meeting 96. and 97., West Ritam 99., Mediawave 2000, Plein Air 2000, Glatt & Verkehrt 2000, Pepsi Sziget 2000, 30th International New jazz Festival in Moers, Germany, at Linz Festival, Lent - Maribor, Praha Respect Festival, Pohoda festival in Trencin,
Weltenklang festival in St. Polten, Kapolcs festival and Pepsi Sziget 2001 in Budapest con una platea di 15000 spettatori dove il gruppo inglese Oasis che suonava dopo di loro dovette attendere 30 minuti per l'aclamazione dei presenti alla musica di Boban M.O.
A Guca, al "Dragacevski Sabor 2001" Boban Markovic vince il premio "The First Trumpet", che è il premio più ambito per ogni musicista serbo. Boban e il primo e unico ad aver vinto il premio con il voto 10 da parte di tutti i membri della giuria.
Nello stesso periodo Network, un grande lable in Germania pubblica il doppio CD "Golden Brass Summit" - Anthology of 40 years in Guca, dove Boban Markovic Orkestar apre l'album con 4 brani.
Collaborazioni con il duetto Austriaco Attwenger e con Frank London's Klezmer Brass All Stars Di Shikere Kapelye. Il loro CD "Srce Cigansko" e stato nominato come uno dei dieci migliori album del 2000 da Ben Mandelson, uno dei massimi esperti di brass bands
